Privacy policy
SleeperRoutes (sleeperroutes.com) is an independent guide to night trains. This page explains what the site records when you visit, which outside services are involved and how to reach us about your data.
Who is responsible
The site sleeperroutes.com, called SleeperRoutes here, is responsible for this page. You can write to us at contact@sleeperroutes.com.
What we record
To learn which pages are useful, the site uses Google Analytics. It records pages viewed, approximate country, type of device and where the visit came from, and it uses cookies to do so. Google receives this data.
The text fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so when a page opens your browser connects to Google’s servers, which can see your IP address.
Pages are delivered through Cloudflare, which records technical access data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request.
The route search filters the list inside your browser. The places you type appear in the page address, so they can show up in the access and measurement records described above.
What we do not do
- There are no accounts, newsletters or comments.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not set cookies of our own and we do not use your browser’s local storage; the measurement cookies come from Google Analytics.
Links to partner sites
Some links on this site lead to partner sites, such as tour sellers and NordVPN; if you book or buy through them, the site may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. When you click, you go to the partner’s site, which has its own privacy policy and may set its own cookies. Booking and payment happen there, and this site does not receive your booking details.
On pages that show activities, the photos load straight from the partner’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details at that moment. The same goes for the buttons that lead to the websites of train companies, where tickets are bought, and for the other sources we link to: each one follows its own policy.
Contact messages
There is no contact form or phone line: messages arrive as an ordinary email at contact@sleeperroutes.com. Messages sent to this address are stored and organised by an automated tool so the team can read them, and are used only to reply to you.
Your rights and choices
You can write to contact@sleeperroutes.com to ask for access to your data, to have it corrected or to have it deleted. Since the site has no accounts, in practice this concerns the emails you sent us.
To limit cookies, block or delete them in your browser settings. You can also install Google’s add-on that turns off Analytics: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
